We are using g729 here between extensions and the PBX, as well as between the PBX and a SIP provider.
Everything works well, but in an effort to reduce the number of licenses in use at any moment, it would be nice to have the asterisk sound files encoded in g729 installed. I know that they can be downloaded from http://downloads.asterisk.org/pub/telephony/sounds/ and installed manually, but before I go that route, I would like to know if there is a better way to do that, namely through yum and an RPM, thus avoiding any issues with upgrades and such in the future.
"yum search asterisk-sounds" seems to indicate that the only optiona available are alaw, ulaw, and gsm, Is there any reason that the g729 format sounds are not made available as an RPM?
Many thanks,
Tom
