Ring group members, busy signal when picking up call

Hello,
I’ve been beating my head on this one for a while now, so I’m reaching out in hopes that someone else has an easy answer to the problem.
What’s happening is we have an inbound DID routed to a ring group of 3 users. Randomly when one user goes to pickup the call, they will get either a busy signal or dead air, but the call continues to ring on the other two phones and when answered the caller is there. This happens about 1 to 2 times an hour.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Speed dial to manage Call Forwarding

@badams wrote:

I cant seem to find whether or not this is doable - though it seems like something that would be pretty standard.
We have freepbx running in a business environment. After business hours, it auto switches to an IVR. One of the IVR options is to connect to an “On Call Tech”. The “On Call Tech” is just extension 250 that call forwards to a cell phone. This cell phone number changes each Friday based on the tech on call.
When I was hoping is to setup a “Speed Dial” button on the receptions Grandstream phone - one for each tech that would ever be on call, all the receptionist would have to do is click their button on the grandstream phone and that would auto setup the forward. Is this possible?

Bonus points if BLF can be used instead to show which tech is currently active in the forward

Ring-groups not completing internally

@Rabsgog89 wrote:

First post, but I have lurked for a bit. Always appreciate the help I see in the forums. I am having an issue with ring-groups on a freepbx system not working when dialed from an internal extension.

Extensions work when direct dialed. Ring group works when set up with an inbound route and called externally. All extensions are internal for departments to be able to share incoming calls. I have tried it with multiple ring strategies, made sure no call forwards could be an issue, and don’t see much in the logs regrading the issue.

In the CDR it shows the extension dialing from-internal to the ring-group, then being denied.

Current asterisk version is 13.22.0

Re-activating System Admin Pro after OS re-install

Hello, I am trying to find some information on how to go about re-activating a purchased system admin pro license. I have a server I am prepping, I want to take a backup of this server then re-install freepbx onto it. Using the same hardware import the backup I took. My question is, can I re-activate the system admin pro license that I purchased or do I have to re buy it in order to use it on this new instance of freepbx?

Any help is appreciated or a point in the right direction.

Call waiting beep when internal extensions are called

@PH03N1X wrote:

Hopefully this all makes sense as explained below. It was a bit of a hassle to get nailed down…

Our receptionist will receive a call on the main business line. While on the call, she hears a short beep, as if there is another call coming in. When attempting to answer the call, there is not a call waiting to be picked up.

We have tested many different scenarios and have discovered that the “call waiting beep” occurs when one internal extension dials another, while the receptionist is on a call received from main line. Is there any direction that anyone can give for troubleshooting? I am at a complete loss at the moment. The only thing that I can think of is that someone is dialing a ring group by accident, but I don’t see how that can be possible, without it being a joke, as we have the extension numbers set up to be very dissimilar in case of accidental dialing.

Any input wold be greatly appreciated.

Unable to authenticate with User Manager credentials

@Vietyank wrote:

I am fairly new and may not understand how this is supposed to work.

I thought by creating an entry in user manager and linking it to an extension, then the user could register a softphone by using the credentials specified in the User Manager entry.

I create a user with the name larryo and linked it to an extension. The entry in user manager has a different password than that of the extension. I then try to create an account in Zoiper using the User Manager credentials, but it won’t register. Only the credentials used for the extension work.

If I am misunderstanding this, please explain it.

Change Find Me/Follow me in extension from CLI

Hello,

I hope that I can get some help here, I’m trying to change an extensions his “Find Me/Follow Me” settings.
We use it to call an external number. We need to change this automated using a cronjob or some combination of CLI commands.

I already tried to change it directly in the MySQL database with a query, but it seems that FreePBX isn’t using it. And when I browse back to the page on the FreePBX interface the changes are gone and changes back to what it was in the MySQL database.

I really hope that somebody can help me, maybe with an PHP script that I can use to achieve this.

Version info:
FreePBX 14.0.11
Asterisk 13.26.0

Thank you for the help.

I’m not a Linux expert, but from what I can tell, mysql (or mariadb?) isn’t running.

I tried:

mysqlcheck --repair --all-databases

and I got this:

[root@mobpbx2 ~]# mysqlcheck --repair --all-databases
mysqlcheck: Got error: 2002: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) when trying to connect

I came across this FreePBX Community post: Mysqld service will not start after a improper shut down

That led me to remove /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock then I ran service mariadb start, and mysql is running again.

Then when I ran mysqlcheck --repair --all-databases, it looks like all of the asterisk.* & asteriskcdrdb.* tables say “doesn’t exist” and “operation failed” next to them. The mysql.* tables all show “OK”.

Since the asterisk & asteriskcdrdb databases aren’t working, I get this when I login via CLI:

I have some backups, but this is the first time I’ve ever had to do anything with them. We’re supposed to have a full local back as well as a warm spare backup --> the primary & warm spare servers are both having the same issues.

In my backups I have mysql-2.sql & mysql-3.sql files, and I can see that these are the asterisk and asteriskcdrdb databases, respectively. I don’t have any of the other files from /var/lib/mysql though. On the server, I see these in /var/lib/mysql:

aria_log.00000001
aria_log_control
ib_logfile0
ib_logfile1
ibdata1
mysql.sock

I read in a forum somewhere that the ib* files are important for restoring. Again, I’m pretty far outside of my expertise here, so any direction would be appreciated. I don’t expect direct assistance with mysql, but if I’m missing something simple, I thought you all might see it.

Also, in spite of all of this, calls are still processing normally. I just can’t do anything in the interface.

Thanks!

Freepbx - Email issue

Hello,

I have purchased the Sysadmin Pro module, mostly because I’m appreciative of the work performed to provide us with Freepbx, and partly because I wanted to save the hassle of playing in configuration files.

Unfortunately, I have been unable to make the email work so far.

Currently, Debug shows that my emails are bounced. Here are a few logs:

May 20 12:37:38 freepbxV5 postfix/pickup[16035]: CF42010DF731: uid=995 from=
May 20 12:37:38 freepbxV5 postfix/qmgr[16036]: CF42010DF731: from=<asterisk@support@mydomainname.com>, size=532, nrcpt=1 (queue active)

As you can see, freepbx is adding a “asterisk” prior to the email I’d like it to send it from.

I have no clue where the “asterisk” comes from. If you guys can point me in the right direction, don’t hesitate.

Thanks,

Frank

Can i use Blf for an extension’s line 1 and another blf for the same extension’s line 2?

My goal is to visual monitor the lines of an agent that has more than 3 lines simultaneously.

Maybe I could use a code at the blf value in the endpoint manager?

Thank you in advance for any information.

Trunk stops working after PBX IP address change

I just upgraded routers recently and changed the PBX’s IP address from 192.168.0.16 to 10.0.161.130. I did this with these instructions https://wiki.freepbx.org/display/PPS/How+to+set+Network+Settings+from+the+CLI

The PBX was once on the old router. It was the only thing plugged into that router. Everything else, phones and trunk were plugged into the newer router, and it all worked.

After I changed the IP address of the PBX, and moved it to the new router. I updated the IP’s on the phones and the Cisco SPA3000. Everything still works, except for incoming calls. The SPA3000 lines are both registered. When you dial in, the SPA3000 answers, but does no proceed the PBX. The SPA3000 only presents the caller with a few clicks before hanging up after 17 seconds.

Calls dropping from conference rooms

We have had an ongoing issue regarding calls dropping from conference rooms and are now looking for some input. We have an older server that is still on FreePBX 12 / Asterisk 11 and recently built a new server with FreePBX 14 / Asterisk 13 and the issue is present on both of them regardless of whether we use MeetMe or ConfBridge (We are currently using Confbridge). We think we have narrowed the issue down to the fact that we are forcing recording on all of our conference rooms but can’t be sure yet. I have read about setups where people have a far greater number of conference rooms on much weaker hardware but I do not recall any details regarding recording. We only have 108 conference rooms at the moment. I don’t think we need that many because at peak hours we have 30-40 in use, so I was also thinking of cutting that number down as well.

Here are the tests we did:
Test # 1
Recording enabled.
Inbound call from my cell phone transferred into conference room and joined by an internal extension. The inbound call will drop between 13 and 17 mins.

Test # 2
Recording disabled.
Same scenario as above. After 30 minutes, the call was still connected. I voluntarily disconnected the call.

Reports from our internal users are inconsistent. Some will disconnect within a few minutes and some will go for an hour or 2 without issue. We are still doing some testing but I was hoping someone could take a look at a snippet from our log file. This is after the the call disconnected from the conference room and we start hearing MoH on the internal extension.

What have been done wrong so I can tell my friend what to do please?
