Helo, everyone.
After upgrading asterisk today to version 16.2 I have encountered the following php error while reloading, in Sipsettings.class.php, line 433: json_decode() exprects parameter 1 to be string, array given. Asterisk works, but the upgrade itself did not run smoothly this time, probably due to this error. I had to manually restart asterisk after upgrade.

Unsupported transport (PJSIP_EUNSUPTRANSPORT)' sending OPTIONS request to endpoint

@Hawkeye wrote:

Hi, keep seeing in CLI

Unsupported transport (PJSIP_EUNSUPTRANSPORT)’ sending OPTIONS request to endpoint

all PJSIP extensions are unavailable.

Have seen another post regarding this were it was said to make sure
Allow Transports Reload is set to No. This FreePBX 14 PBX running Asterisk 16.6.2 does have Allow Transports Reload set No.

Sip Settings PJSIP has: udp - 0.0.0.0 - All YES and tls - 0.0.0.0 - All YES

While writing this, ran # asterisk-version-switch and selected 1 for Asterisk 13 to see if the messages in CLI stopped. All PJSIP extensions are online after Asterisk version became 13.29.2.

So far ~ 10 minutes later the PJSIP error messages have not reappeared.

Is this issue just applicable to Asterisk 16?

Bulk SIP Extension password change

Is there a way to easily change/set the password of all the extensions in a system at once? We imported several hundred extensions through a CVS file but didn’t realize that the password wasn’t auto generated while doing this just like it would when creating a new extension manually and now are facing the daunting task of having to set a password manually for each extension.

Is there an easy way to have the system auto set those using the same facility that is being used when manually creating the extension?

I see this was posted before, but no answer given

Sometimes a caller will call just before closing, then if staff is unable to answer the call before closing time, the caller will be stuck waiting until max hold time.

I am not seeing anything in the queue menu to address this.

never mind: found it

Can't record calls directed to a virtual extension or misc application?

@michthom wrote:

I’m following Shaun Ewing’s guide to installing the “Lenny” application

(I’m using FreePBX 14.0.13.23 on a fully-updated RasPBX 04-04-2018 image running on a Pi 2B. I deliberately wanted to use the latest FreePBX 14 as I’m expecting to use the John Fawcett’s Dynamic Routing module and that doesn’t seem to have a version for FreePBX 15 yet.)

Lenny is working perfectly fine, from the callers point of view. I get to listen to Lenny, he detects my silences or chatter just fine.

But having set up call recording on all incoming calls, I’m unable to discover why calls to Lenny end up as 44 byte .wav files, whereas calls between extensions or from trunks that don’t reach his dulcet tones are recorded normally? (Clearly half the point of Lenny is recording the chaos wrought by him!)

Shaun’s instructions had me create a virtual extension as the destination for the calls, and set recording preferences on that extension. This approach generated some errors in the asterisk log:

...
[2019-12-27 22:04:31] VERBOSE[4501][C-0000000e] pbx.c: Executing [recordcheck@sub-record-check:16] NoOp("SIP/8888-00000015", "Starting recording: internal, 6666") in new stack
[2019-12-27 22:04:31] VERBOSE[4501][C-0000000e] pbx.c: Executing [recordcheck@sub-record-check:17] Set("SIP/8888-00000015", "__CALLFILENAME=internal-6666-8888-20191227-220431-1577484271.21") in new stack
...
[2019-12-27 22:04:31] WARNING[4501][C-0000000e] channel.c: No channel type registered for 'VIRTUAL'
[2019-12-27 22:04:31] WARNING[4501][C-0000000e] app_dial.c: Unable to create channel of type 'VIRTUAL' (cause 66 - Channel not implemented)
[2019-12-27 22:04:31] VERBOSE[4501][C-0000000e] app_dial.c: Everyone is busy/congested at this time (1:0/0/1)
...

…and the recording file was a truncated 44 byte stub:

root@raspbx:/var/spool/asterisk/monitor/2019/12/27# ls -l /var/spool/asterisk/monitor/*/*/*/*1577484271.21*
-rw-r--r-- 1 asterisk asterisk     44 Dec 27 22:04 internal-6666-8888-20191227-220431-1577484271.21.wav

I then tried his other approach and included the MixMonitor application in the Lenny dial plan itself, which made no detectable difference to the outcome:

[Lenny]
exten => talk,1,Set(i=${IF($["0${i}"="016"]?7:$[0${i}+1])})
same => n,ExecIf($[${i}=1]?MixMonitor(${UNIQUEID}.wav))
same => n,Playback(Lenny/Lenny${i})
same => n,BackgroundDetect(Lenny/backgroundnoise,1500)

Next I tried @lgaetz advice in this post, and instead created a Misc. Application to point to the Custom Destination.

Here are the logs from another successful call to Lenny, with no errors:

But in this case I don’t get a recording file created at all, despite the MixMonitor entries above?

I’m puzzled and would appreciate any guidance!

My googling had indicated this “44 byte recording” issue might be related to missing / incompatible codecs or transcoders? So I updated Asterisk SIP Settings to include only alaw, gsm, g726 and ulaw (I’m in the UK, if it matters). No improvement.

This next bit may be irrelevant, please ignore if so.

When a call is in progress between extensions (that does generate a recording), the CLI shows two active legs of the call, and on one I see:

raspbx*CLI> core show channel SIP/8888-00000013
 -- General --
           Name: SIP/8888-00000013

  NativeFormats: (alaw)
    WriteFormat: alaw
     ReadFormat: alaw

When I do the same with a call to Lenny, there’s only one leg to the call, and it shows:

raspbx*CLI> core show channel SIP/8888-00000010
 -- General --
           Name: SIP/8888-00000010

Letting go of the reins.. need help with my small office setup

Hi, learned a lot here. Was able to setup my own freepbx system for my small business. (startup solo practice doc)
Not sure if this is the right forum for this topic, I apologize if it is not. I’m looking for someone who can help me optimize my system. Need to focus my time on other things and let you, the experts optimize my phone system. And ofcourse, compensate for your time.

Biggest issue I have is I can’t figure out how to setup faxing though I’ve read that it can really be a pain in the rear to do it. Bought a Cisco ATA SPA 122 thinking even at least I can use my fax machine for occasional outgoing faxes (I have a cloud based charting system) where I have my incoming faxes routed to. I only fax out if I have hard copies that I do not need to scan in the system first. Rest of the other issues are small and just really consulting for optimization/review of features we may not be utilizing.

Thanks for your time.

-Or is there a possibility to definitvly kill all process listening on port 4573?

Hi,
After updating my freepbx I now get an issue on the dashboard. The text says " Unable to locate the freepbx BMO Class ““Genalertglyphicon”” a requested module might be disabled or uninstalled". Has this been deprecated or is this an actual error.

Thanks,

[SOLVED] No DID provided from sip trunk to Inbound Routes

@gfgfnl wrote:

As a total Freepbx newbie, I had been struggling with this before and had given up, but this was no longer an option so I tried again yesterday.

The situation: I have two trunks with different numbers from the same SIP-provider. Hence, the registrar/proxy host is the same. I need one number to go into an IVR and the other to a ring group (so without automatic answering as other devices are connected to this trunk as well and need to ring). So I created the trunks and two Inbound routes with the respective DID. This did however not work. It seems that no DID whatsoever was passed on to the Inbound Route.

After many hours of testing and searching around in the asterisk config files created by Freepbx, I found out that all calls from the SIP trunks are passed to the context from-pstn, regardless of the trunk name or the context directive in the SIP settings. From within the context from-pstn, various other contexts are included and the call is handled as follows:

  • from-pstn
  • ext-did (included in from-pstn)
  • ext-did-0001 and ext-did-0002 (my inbound routes, included in ext-did)

Somehow the DID was not passed on, although the right number was present in the To: header of the SIP trunk when receiving a call in the format sip:0123456789@some.host.nl

I finally managed to grasp the DID from the SIP To: header by adding the following lines to the config file /etc/asterisk/extensions_custom.conf

[from-pstn-custom]
exten => s,1,Set(__DID=${SIP_HEADER(TO):5:10})
exten => s,n,Goto(ext-did,${DID},1)
exten => 7777,1,Goto(ext-did,0123456789,1)

where 0123456789 is to be replaced by the real DID

Now the 10-digit DID is passed to the context ext-did and everything is handled properly. For convenience I also added one of the DIDs to the 7777 facility code.

Don’t know if this is a bug or a feature or whether it only occurs with my SIP-provider (xs4all.nl).

Happy to learn a better solution for this issue (without manipulating config files) if available but I thought it might be helpful to post my findings.

Cheers! G

At a guess cURL is rejecting the self signed FreePBX certificate?

Is there any permanent solution that will allow that user to register without whitelisting the IP every time.
