Signalling Type: FXS Kewlstart on FXO Port

We have a Sangoma PBX and our FXO ports show correctly in DAHDI Config under FXO settings, but in the Asterisk cli they show as:

Signalling Type: FXS Kewlstart under:

freepbx*CLI> dahdi show channel 2

Which is am FXO port. Am i missing something.

We looked into this as trying to use that port we cannot call into the PBX at all. And the PBX doesn’t not seem to pick up the call. But the line works as we plugged an analog phone into it and it rings if called. But not if plugged into the PBX.

Thanks

T.38 and Faxing

@gbaughma wrote:

I’m trying to make an informed decision on replacing our PRI with a bunch of SIP trunks. Now, according to our provider, these sip trunks a) are separate bandwidth from our internet, and b) support T.38 faxing.

We receive about 2000 fax pages a week. We send out about 400-500.

We’re currently using HylaFax for both sending and receiving/routing. It’s working well, with 8 IAX modems and <1% failure.

Thoughts? Do’s and Don’ts? Has anyone had experience with the T.38 protocol? Do I dare try to do that many faxes over SIP?

I’d love to hear someone’s experiences with faxing.

Thank you!

I am testing out FreePBX as my company may be looking to move over to an Asterisk platform from Cisco Communications Manager. We have a large number of 8841 phones that are not part of the auto distribution in FreePBX. I pulled the config here from CUCM and was hoping someone here has used them and could recommend modifications for it to work with Freepbx.

Hi everyone,

i need to play a sound on all the phones when i call a ring group. That´s all

Doing the research its supposed that when u have an announcement configured on a ring group when you call the ring group the wav file reproduces. but i try and nothing happens, i already use auto answer and the phone hears me.

Well in our school have some colors to identify about city risk (our city is kind of insecure) but we want to implement a sound so everyone go inside and shelter. We have phones in every classroom , library, etc . We wanto to call a number (code) and a sound (alarm) rings in every phone. I read something about paging pro but i still dont get it clear. Any info would be appreciated.

Hello.

I have 2 freepbx servers, ver. 14.0.10.3. They are configured. I connected that 2 servers via SIP trunk.

But, when I enter sip show peers command, STATUS = UNKNOWN:

In SIP trunk - SIP settings - Outgoing:
For 1-st pbx:

nat=yes
insecure=invite,port
host=dynamic
qualify=yes
context=from-internal&from-internal
disallow=all
canreinvite=no

For 2-nd pbx:

secret=*******
nat=yes
insecure=invite,port

How to solve this problem? I need STATUS = OK. How to do this?

Thank you.

System firewall not enabled after updates

Hi all,
First post and stressed! FreePBX 14.0.10.3 I am not fluent with Linux and have relied on the wiki and this board for info in the past, much more Windows based after 30+years of support. I have just updated several systems with the latest updates, both modules and CentOs, to discover suddenly the System Firewall is not running and not enabled. These systems have run for over a year being reliable with no issues, and being updated as required. The last update seem to have broken them. You can’t enable the firewall without an error, or uninstall then re-install without a similar script error. I have tried all the command options posted previously but to no avail. They fail with an error that Incron failed to pick up a file after 5 seconds. I did capture this when trying to enable:

Any help would be appreciated!

Hello,

The account codes we are putting into the field appear to be one character longer than the field can take. This is my observation based on pulling the CDR and seeing the account code be one character short.

Is there a way to adjust this so I can still use the FreePBX CDR?

Scheduled multicast paging stopped working

Back in January we updated the modules on our production freepbx server. The next day we noticed that the school multicast page no longer worked. We have mostly Digium phones with some Sangoma and many speakers (Algo and Valcom) and none of these devices played the sound. We were busy at that time and so I looked at what was updated and rolled back modules until it started working again. I did not write down which module it was that caused the problem. (My mistake). We have not updated the server since. I have time now and have spun up a new test server with a clean install. All modules are up to date and test phones are on their newest firmware. We are using Paging Pro and have set up a page (#88888) as a multicast page and set a schedule. I have dialed 88888 and the phones pick up and play the wav file. This works great. However, when the schedule runs I see it happening in the log file and the phones pick up but promptly hang up without playing the wav file. I have researched and have been unable to find a solution. How can we get this working again so we can update our production server.

I have narrowed down to two modules the likely culprit. It is either “Framework” or “Core”.

Module Production Version Test Version
Framework 14.0.5.25 14.0.10.3
Core 14.0.18.45 14.0.25.4
Paging Pro 14.0.2.10 14.0.2.15

As I mentioned above the Production is currently working on older modules and the Test does not work. I have not figured out how to rollback the modules on the test as they are not available in the GUI beyond when I created the fresh install.

I tried pasting the log file here but I am a new user and it blocked me from doing so because it has lines that look like links.

Any suggestions?

Trying to provision Yealink W60B and 5 W56H handsets

I have tried with zero success to provision 5 x W56H handsets via a W60B base station. It must be something I am missing in all the researched articles that I have found and therefore time to ask for an “idiots guide” on how to accomplish this.

I have tried using EPM and provisioning manually, I would prefer the former if at all possible.
I have tried after doing a factory reset on the W56H’s and the W60B.

I am using:
Freepbx 14.0.10.3
Asterisk 16.3.0
Endpoint Manager (commercial) 14.0.2.188
All firmware in the W60B and W56H’s are the latest versions.

I have provisioned some 50 Yealink T46S handsets using EPM with great success.
When I connect the W60B, I do a network scan in EPM and find the W60B but that is clearly not of much use.
I have manually registered the handsets in the W60B but cannot see them in EPM. I have tried setting the server url in the W60B but no change.

If the W60B needs to be configured as a Base Station in EPM I can see no way to do this as there is no associated template.

ANY assistance would be appreciated and may go some way to restoring my (in)sanity!
Regards

We are running FreePBX 14.0.11 / Asterisk 16.2.1 PJSIP endpoints
We have a very odd issue with the DND feature codes
*78 & *76 (If DND is not active) work fine. Enter either of them and get the DND activated as expected.
*79 & *76 (If DND is active, both return a 603 Declined
Cannot figure this out… Any ideas?

I used FreePBX 14.0.11, Asterisk 13.26.0, Sangoma Linux 3.10.0-862.14.4. I need to use about 10000 inbound routes. I imported 2000 routes and reboot server everything is OK. But when i imported next 2000 routes and make reboot I have the mistake - in start.class.php line 187, Unable to connect to Asterisk. (on 12 secs). If i run asterisk stop and fwconsole start from console - server works. Any ideas? Thank you.

Issues with SIPStation connection this morning but that cleared up. Trunks register but still no server connection in SIPStation module of GUI.

Everything is fine after reboot for about thirty minutes. Then the phones and trunks loose connection even thought the GUI says all is fine. A fwconsole reload early on will get connection back for a while. If it goes very long sometimes a fwconsole restart will restart it and sometimes it can’t kill asterisk. A reboot is required, even that takes several minutes to shutdown. I suspect killing asterisk is the issue there. Boots fine cycle starts over.

Any Ideas?
