Huge "nodebug" log files

@nickb wrote:

I received an alert about my PBX disk being full, and found /var/log/asterisk/nodebug (and rotated files) taking up 90% of the disk space.

As of yet searches have not yielded what this log is, it does appear to be debugging, but I have not turned on any debugging that I recall.

How do I disable this disk gobbler?

Ok to delete var/spool/asterisk/tmp?

I have a system that is quite high in storage % and I couldn’t quite figure out why. I am recording calls but that only adds up to 61G out of the 178G being used. I went searching and found var/spool/asterisk/tmp that looks to be quite large. There are various wav files along with a backup-2 file that contains etc,tftp boot and var folders. Perhaps a backup that was stopped? Can I delete this tmp file?

PBX slow to power off, flooding logs, high CPU usage

I’m experiencing the following issues:

  1. PBX takes 2 min to shut down
    PBX takes 2 minutes to shut down on reboot

  2. And I’m also experiencing a flooding of logs with high CPU usage (100-176%) on a quad core system.

This was a fresh install of FreePBX (https://downloads.freepbxdistro.org/ISO/SNG7-FPBX-64bit-1904-2.iso) and I noticed that after I did the latest round of module updates this morning that these issues started.

Please see screenshots.

Hi Jitter randomly - suggestions for troubleshooting?

@RussK wrote:

I have an intermittent problem where three to 5 second dropouts are occuring during calls. Wireshark shows no packet loss

, but a huge number for jitter. It will go from .05ms throughout the call and suddenly spike to 33554288.93. For the particular call example, this happened on the reverse leg between the PBX and the Yealink SIP-T48G phone. This is FreePBX 14 distro, BTW.

I have QoS enabled on the switches with DSCP. The Yealink phones use 46 for RTP and I have mapped that to COS 7 in the switches. The trunk is a Spectrum in house fiber SIP trunk, but as I said this occurred between the PBX in house and the phone. Iperf3 between the PBX and the PC that is downstream from the phone shows .045 jitter and there are no obvious network problems that I can observe.

What I’m hoping for here is some experienced troubleshooters to give me some suggestions on how to figure out why the jitter suddenly goes off the scale. I included a screenshot of the RTP Stream analysis from wireshark.

Thanks,
Russ

Hello,

We run FreePBX 15.0.16.21 and found that one pgp servers coded in GPG.class.php unavailable for long time and reload process goes very long because of that. This server should be excluded from the servers list or should be a way to exclude buggy servers. Currently we had to comment out this server in sources to fix this.

root@pbx:~# sudo -u asterisk gpg --refresh-keys --keyserver keyserver.pgp.com -vvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
gpg: using character set ‘utf-8’

Unstable system

@hgsupport wrote:

I have a client with a problematic freepbx system. I am having to reboot it every 3-4 days because of this. I am running FreePBX 14.0.13.6 and asterisk 13.22

They have almost 60 sangoma phones. What happens is that after about 3-4 days the phones start randomly going unreachable and reachable. It starts with 1-2 but will escalate to 20-30 and the dashboard looks like an EKG. I was running Asterisk 13.26 and read about issues with that version so I downgraded to 13.22 but that did not fix the issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pbx in standby?

@Cricchetto wrote:

Hello everyone, I have a problem with version 14 of the PBX. After a few minutes of inactivity it goes into standby and the incoming call fails after 10 seconds. To restore it the only way is to access the pbx and give it any “submit” - “apply” command. In this way the incoming call connects to the IVR.
What can this strange behavior depend on? Maybe from the NAT?

Unconditional call forward - Novice question

@fesarlis wrote:

Hello.
I am trying to set up a feature code (like *72 and *73) to forward all incoming calls every night to a cellular phone.

All inbound calls are going to a ring group that rings all extensions.

I have tried to use *72 from an extension, and it seems to work only when this extension (213) is being directly called from another extension (eg 212->213). So basically global forwarding should be enabled from an extension but apply to all incoming external calls (that is, no extension from the ring group should ring).

I would appreciate some help. Thank you

Calls in queues get transferred to agent's voicemail

$

@gsoucy wrote:

Hello,

We have configured 2 call queues on which many agents login and logout dynamically. We want the calls to remain in the queue until one of the agents takes it. It works fine for most agents. For one of them, always the same, some calls from the queue go straight to the agent’s voicemail . Not all the time but often.

From looking at the CDR logs, I can see that this seems to happen on the second time the call is proposed to this agent. On the first round, if this agent does not answer, the call goes to the other agents as it should. However, on the second round, the call goes to the voicemail of that agent and ends there. Naturally, this is not what we want.

In principle, this agent’s config is the same as all others. I compared the configs and I cannot see anything special. We changed the physical phone and also the extension.

Our installation is pretty old: we have FreePBX 2.10 and asterisk 1.8.15.1 .

Here is an example of a sequence where the call goes to the agent’s voice mail

On item 1 , the call gets into the queue. On item 2, it gets proposed to the agent 273 for the first time and is not taken. On item 3, the call is sent to the voicemail of agent 273.

Is there any setting that could cause this sequence of events to happen ?

Any hint would be useful.

Thank you

Gilbert

Hello

Very new to FreePbx but I love it and I would like to say thank you to everybody who has been involved in making it what it is today.

I think i may have internal network issues that lead to very choppy calls. I have dealt with both my ISP’s in regards to making sure that their lines coming in and going out of the site are configured and working properly.

On in coming calls i have an issue where the person calling can hear me just fine but on my side the call is choppy (drops voice and its hard to hear full sentences)

and on out going calls i hear a crackling sound??I have some errors on the dash that i don’t want to mess with until l know what i am doing. I am also not sure if i should disable commercial modals or not. Any way i have seen that most experts ask for information about systems before they can help so here goes…

Asterisk 11.25.3
The local network is on its own domain running DHCP with a smart switch
The hardware that i am running is an i5 with 8G ram. This machine only runs freepbx
to be honest i dont know much about freepbx and would not know what commands to run in the cli to get logs

The system however has some reports that i can obtain.

Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Hi Guys,

I have been compromised.
I have a distro PBX 14 setup. I have twilio account setup for outbound calling.
Auto refill is enabled on the account.
I have noticed successful calls on switzerland High-Risk Toll Fraud destination.
when I want to check the CDRs and Log files in FreePBX, I can’t find any of the record for those dates like on 26th and 27th I have no record of any
of the log files: CDRS, FreepbxLogs, security logs, fail2ban or any of the logs for those dates.

Now I want to trace those call logs and check how system was breached and we were compromised.

Are there any suggestions to start from.

One Major concern is twilio has those high-risk Toll Fraud destinations by default blocked, then how calls passed to these destinations.

Repair Boot?

Suddenly, my drive won’t boot.
Is there a way to fix the boot sector? Can I download the correct (?) version of centos and fix the boot sector?
What version would I use?

Note: I used Clonezilla to create this – I noticed another thread that suggested that cloneszilla might not be bulletproof with this version.

Potential Bug on call transfer

Hello,

I noticed a potential “bug” with Asterisk 16 & Freepbx 14.

Context: Call agent 1 transfers call to another agent. This last one is not at his desk.

So Call agent on D70 wants to “take back” the call to inform the caller that the Call agent 2 is absent.

But there is the issue: When taking back the call, Call agent 1 cannot hear anymore the initial caller while this one still can hear Call agent 1. So only one way audio

Any idea where the drop in 2 way audio happens ?

Thanks a million.

No Ringtone when pinset is enabled on outbound trunk

Hello all, i have pinset module version 13.0.13 and my freepbx version is FreePBX 13.0.197.8 and asterisk version is 13.17.0. I have 2 T1 trunks, When i define my pinsets on my outbound trunk i am not able to hear a ringtone. When i remove the pinset from the trunk the i will hear a ringtone. I have already tried setting the Asterisk Trunk Dial Options to “r” and even tried “Tr” still the same result. Any advise as to what would be causing the issue.
